The Doomslaaayer

I got my silly little pun exhibited at UltraSuperNew.

The exhibition will be up until 22 March 2024 at UltraSuperNew Gallery, 168 Tyrwhitt Rd.

I’ve received comments about this artwork on social media saying “This is the first genderbend of DoomGuy I’ve seen” as well as some of the “You will not be forgiven for this” Hahaha

Daddy Halsin

My Procreate app lagged so much while I was drawing Halsin because I had to create so many separate layers for his armor and body lol, BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT.

In the midst of drawing Halsin, I had a genius idea of turning it into a phone wallpaper - where the locked wallpaper is armored Halsin, and the homescreen is topless Halsin. See example of the wallpaper in action here on my TikTok.

I’m also attaching some photos of the holographic Astarion photocards I gave away with every purchase of any of my Baldur’s Gate 3 fanart during SGCC. (I should start this tradition of giving away gag gifts for comic con every year eh? Last year I gave prints of Alicent’s feet hahaha)

Anyway I have decided, 2024 will be the year I descend into making degenerate art.

Singapore Comic Con 2023

So thankful for the chance to booth at SGCC with Sheryl again.

Thank you to everyone who came down! I am thankful for everyone who got art from me, or just dropped by to chat! I had such an amazing time talking to everyone who are also simping over Astarion HAHAHAHA.

Thankful to my booth partner Sheryl for doing this with me again, it has been incredibly fun art journey trying to get our art out. Shout out to Roma for sticking till the end for both days and helping us out!!

Here’s some photos from the weekend.

Con high is real, I don’t want it to end hahaha.

Blade of Frontiers

Immortalising this moment- the voice actor for Wyll Ravengard -Theo Solomon- left a comment on my post! (I am crying, screaming and throwing up)

Here’s the artwork I made of The Blade of Frontiers with Mizora. I used the rotational symmetry tool on Procreate again, and I think it’s cool that you can flip the artwork either way.

Game of Thrones Office Posters

Sheryl and I brainstormed a ton of these corporate motivational posters featuring Game of Thrones characters when we were in Kuala Lumpur for Noizucon. She will be doing a couple of office motivational posters and I have currently made 2 for the upcoming Singapore Comic Con (SGCC)

I still have a couple more quotes I can do but I’m not sure if I can make them before SGCC. There’s a Jon Snow quote that I really like too haha.

The Hellion's Heart

I thought I’d make the blogpost slightly more interesting by adding some process shots of how the artwork came to be. Scroll the gallery to see the artwork from sketch, flat colors, and the final artwork.

Usually I’d have a pose for the character in my head, and I’ll start looking for references for the pose before I start sketching and I'll slowly work out the details (I especially love drawing faces, so I start with detailing it first) the other clothing or weapon details I usually add them in once I am happy with how the face and hair looks.

God, I love my muscle mommy Karlach (and Baldur’s Gate 3!!!) so much. AND YES THAT IS SHADOWHEART’S BUTT

Baldur's Gate 3

I have been spending a lot of time on Baldur’s Gate and I was inspired to draw the pasty vampire elf, Astarion. My justification is that it is ~on brand for me (jk, I’m just obsessed)

I see my own art improve with every artwork I put out. There are some that I rushed and are not too pleased with how they turned out but overall I see myself improving over the years and I just want to say that I am quite proud of myself for it.

2023 Art Resolutions

2023 is going to be the year of being GUNG-HO.

This is the year of being unashamed. If I want to do a collaboration, I will email the brands I want to work with. What’s the worst that can happen? Rejection? I can deal with that. I am going to put myself out there, and do things that make me uncomfortable.

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, right?

This is the year of being hopeful, being lucky, and taking chances.

I created this artwork titled Lucky Girl Syndrome as well - I hope this sets the tone for the year ahead.

“I’m so lucky, everything works out for me.”

Oh I do have a phone wallpaper version of it available- Find it on the highlights on my Instagram account.

Singapore Comic Convention

I am so so so grateful for the opportunity do the artist booth at SGCC. I had so much fun meeting new people, and being given this chance to find my audience.

Very thankful that so many of my friends came down to support- A huge shoutout to all my friends who came by to support and also to those who came by to hang out and helped us man the booth. Honestly I’m not eloquent so I struggle to find the right words, but do know that I am so thankful and appreciative. My gratitude is beyond words.

Very grateful towards my booth partner, Sheryl, for joining me on this immense adventure. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without her. Check out her works here: Meyyen

Lucifer

I am here to immortalise a moment when Gwendoline-fucking-Christie shared my fan art of her as Lucifer from The Sandman on her Instagram story.

BRIENNE OF TARTH LAID EYES ON MY ART! I am sobbing uncontrollably.

Choosing...

Pre-Raphaelite paintings have been one of my biggest art inspiration since forever- The beautiful portrayal of the female subject as well as the symbolism in the paintings are what appeal to me the most. I have had a picture of this portrait painting (Choosing by George Frederic Watts) saved in my phone from awhile ago, so I decide to recreate it.

Part of me wanted to recreate this as a practise for drawing side profile. I aim to challenge myself to draw my characters out of my comfort zone and in different poses.

Heart of Romance

I listed my first NFT yesterday!

This experience has been very exciting and high-tech for me, and I am very thankful for my friends who have been helping me along the way.

Check out my NFT on Foundation! (Follow me there!)

I honestly would like to pay it forward, and if anyone reading this is interested in making NFT art, please feel free to contact me if you ever need help! I will be willing to help anyone who is interested in this!

Threadless Shirts

I am screaming because the ringer t-shirts are so cute!!!

My Threadless store is now live, and you can get the shirts here

It is so nice and satisfying to see my own illustrations mocked up on physical products. I see it as a form of manifestation for my own brand. One day I will have my own physical studio for creating art, and conducting workshops.

I’m going to order the Batty For You Ringer Shirt for myself because I really do like it a lot.

Frolicking

My version of the year of the Tiger, now available as art prints on my store!
I wanted to capture a playful side of the tiger (After all, tigers are still cats!) with my art, instead of the usual fierce and ferocious image of it.

Posting the secret blue beer variant here hahaha. Also, I realise that I enjoy drawing animals more now.

The five blessings

A series of my OC, the Bat Ladies.

Bats are a symbol of good luck in the Chinese culture. I created 5 bats for a loose representation of The Five Blessings – 五福 (五蝠)
Please swipe to see all 5 artworks!

It is honestly so satisfying seeing a series of consistent works.

I have plans to sell these as prints. I am looking to sell higher quality art prints, probably going to get them printed on archival paper and ink. I am also thinking that I would want to stick to the frayed/ torn edges that I have used previously for my prints, since I really like the look of that a lot.

Oh! I am also interested in boothing at a local art market. I should start doing some research for upcoming art markets in Singapore now that we are slowly opening up after the ~panini~ hehe.

Knightcore

I’m experimenting with a series of Knightcore characters. The base template stays the same, and I change out the hands, clothing and accessories for each artwork.

It’s been a fun and creative project so far. I just have to stick to the knightcore aesthetic, and I don’t have to overthink the “story” or plan the poses. It is an elaborate picrew, if you think about it.

I will probably draw a few more, since they are really fun to do. Plus, they look really good together as a series heh.

Rebranding Myself

I am excited to unveil my new brand name – Elizabeth The Severe

My current artwork has been less camp and more dark romantic, so I thought the name should reflect the current self. I have also been thinking that I picked my old name previously because I was too afraid and too embarrassed to name myself like a scene queen, but it is time for me to own my identity.

I’ve created a logo and a monogram for now. The monogram will be great for signing off on all my future artwork. The old name was too long for me whenever I had to sign off, and the initials also spelt out EATS (unfortunate!)

There will be things I can improve on for my new logo, but I am happy with this for now.
